This morning I noticed a very smallĀ hummingbird at our backyard nectar feeder. I briefly got my binoculars on a male CALLIOPE with its flared rosy gorget. This sighting kept me home most of the day watching our feeders but I did not see it again. While sitting on the patio patiently waiting I photographed some backyard visitors.
A male ALLEN'S HUMMINGBIRD has been at the feeder for a several days and a male RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD returned. There were several ANNA'S, male and female. I got photos of a WHITE and GOLDEN CROWNED SPARROW because they will be leaving soon. A WESTERN BLUEBIRD pair stopped by for a drink.
On April 7, 2020 a Calliope was photographed at our feeder on rainy day that attracted many hummers.
