I believe the Cape May warbler that spent the winter at my house in Plainfield CT finally left on Monday night April 22nd to migrate North. He was at my house 113 days. He would visit the feeder right in front of my living room window 15 to 20x a day. He was eating crushed sunflower hearts, some suet balls and grape jelly. He made it through some cold snaps, and a couple pretty harsh winter snow storms. I watched him molt from a fall plumage to his beautiful breeding plumage. I also saw him start with small chips at the feeder to then moving around my yard singing incessantly in his last 3 weeks. It was a remarkable experience and I am grateful he stopped in my small patch of the world. Hopefully he spends a successful summer in the Canadian wilderness and in the fall finds his way ALL the way South! (Though I wouldn't mind if he made a quick pit stop)
