Visitors: The Hitchcock Center Bird Club from Hampshire County, MA.
Weather: Weak W and WNW winds turned onshore (directly east) by 8:00 am. Cloudless skies and temps 41 to 55 deg F.
Raptor Observations: Migrants: Two Harriers spiraled upward early in the 8 o'clock hour reaching an elevation of 2000 feet or more before drifting northward.
Raptors that failed to migrate: Several Ospreys, one carrying a White Perch. One Turkey Vulture.
Non-raptor Observations: At least five (5) Purple Martins around the nesting gourds. A rather modest movement of small passerines but including quite a few Tree Swallows. Canada Geese, Song Sparrow, Mockingbirds.
Predictions: Cloudy skies and moderate (7 mph) SW winds until at least 10:00 am (11:00 am Daylight Saving Time) with temps in low to mid 50s.
