Weather: Mostly sunny with a nice breeze from the northwest. Temperature starting in the low sixties and rising to almost seventy by afternoon. Good visibility but still some haze in the distance.
Raptor Observations: Over seventy migrants today, the majority of them flying by very high. Mostly broad-wings coming through (as expected), along with a fair number of sharpies, a handful of Ospreys, one Bald Eagle, and the season's first kestrels. One sharpie took a dive at Gina, our decoy owl, late in the day.
Local raptors included one sharpie, one broad-wing, two Bald Eagles, three red-tails, and a few Turkey Vultures.
Non-raptor Observations: Several warbler species around in the morning (including Tennessee and Black-throated Green), along with a Blue-headed Vireo. Many butterflies and dragonflies on the wing today.
Ruby-throated Hummingbirds: 8/24 Monarchs: 30/54
Predictions: Slight chance of showers tomorrow with a light northeast wind.
