Subject: Camp Robinson SUA has a New Name
With all the hubbub on the new permit requirement to enter state-owned WMAs, I missed this name change until today when Betty Evans brought it to my attention.
Our beloved Camp Robinson Special Use Area (CRSUA) has officially changed its name to Lake Conway WMA. Betty is working to update the name change into the eBird hotspot tools, so you will soon see it as  you submit your lists or review those from others.
It's my limited understanding that the management there is stepping away from managing it primarily for dog training purposes. I must say they've done an incredible job returning the land to native grasslands with wonderful pollinator habitats. We've enjoyed recent outings there and have busily taken photos of some amazing plants such as Butterfly Milkweed and Rattlesnake Master. We even found some Woolly Rosemallow with Tunnel Bees pollinating them. This location is a real treasure, especiallywhen you add all the different bird species to the list!
