Shorebirds are starting to trickle in on their southbound migration. There were two SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHERS and an AMERICAN AVOCET in Crissy Lagoon this morning (joining the two LONG-BILLED CURLEWS that have been there for a few weeks). Quartermaster Reach had 8 LEAST SANDPIPERS and 2 WESTERN SANDPIPERS, along with 8 KILLDEER (including 3 young).
