Folks, some years ago we had our Spring ( June 2, 2012) meeting at Sunrise Ranch north of Edgemont. It was shortly before the Craven Canyon White Draw fire on June 29 that burned much of the Canyon, which is right next to our meeting area. Our host, Mark's ranch, was featured in an Amazing Grasslands Video. <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U61Z_VicvGU> The area is now the center of controversy relative to proposed Uranium mining. <https://southdakotasearchlight.com/2026/05/18/hearing-on-proposed-black-hills-uranium-drilling-opens-with-hours-of-opposition-testimony/> Some folks may be confused by Mark's leadership position with the uranium mining side of the controversy.
