Date: 4/13/26 10:23 pm From: Ginger Langdon-Lassagne via groups.io <binzer...> Subject: [slocobirding] Bird Atlas Update: Town Hall meeting APRIL 16, 7pm!
Hi Folks! Time for another update on the California Bird Atlas project!
First, and most time-sensitive, there’s another Zoom meetup for everyone interested in the Atlas Project, and this one is very useful for anyone who enjoys birding. Our next Town Hall is on April 16 at 7 PM. We’ll share project updates, take questions, and feature Megan Jankowski (CBA Review Coordinator), who will present on how to find breeding birds. Register for the Zoom here <https://lq9tp.r.a.d.sendibm1.com/mk/cl/f/sh/70gnFpvaUcyUCX71D6ihEcXfwY5/UFCcje9sZRz1> . Submit questions here <https://lq9tp.r.a.d.sendibm1.com/mk/cl/f/sh/70gnFpvaUjpwLM4CNGCn3vHeF8L/W3WM7Nnm-hPf> .
Here’s a local resource that some may not be aware of, that our dear Petra was kind to share with me:

Lots of great information there.
Finally, I’d like to commend all of you for your AMAZING submissions to the Bird Atlas effort, and to remind everyone that MORE information is ALWAYS a good thing. If the bird is carrying nesting materiel, then what is it? Grass? Sticks? Lichen? Did you notice what sort of tree the American Crow used for its sticks? Is the Oak Titmouse carrying food that happens to be Oak Moth Caterpillars? These details can be enormous in advancing the science we’re collecting. Take a moment, especially when finding nesting behavior, to describe the other plants and animals involved in the ecosystem.
Bird on!
