Observation start time: 07:45:00 Observation end time: 13:15:00 Total observation time: 3.75 hours
Official Counter: Jerry McWilliams
Observers: Bernie O'Connor, Jerry McWilliams, Julie Leonard
Visitors: Bernie O'Connor and Julie Leonard assisted with the count during the early part of the count.
Weather: Variably cloudy with strong SW wind and later becoming westerly. Unseasonably warm
Raptor Observations: Very little movement this morning, but I went back out a little later after a storm had passed and there was mini movement of BWs coming in high overhead. Vulture movement was light but steady. When the winds shifted to the west at about 1245 EST the lakeshore flight shut down.
Non-raptor Observations: Purple Martin 1, Tree Swallow, Northern Flicker, Double-crested Cormorant 110, Wood Duck 2, Canada Goose 1, Herring and Ring-billed gulls, Rock Pigeon 20, Mourning Dove, Great Blue Heron 1
Predictions: 90% chance of rain and thunderstorms with SW wind. Could be birds moving between storms. I think the big BW flight could happen any day now with favorable conditions.Jerry McWilliamsErie, Erie County, <Pa.jerrymcw...>
