Cindy Bickel, Ken Tucker and myself from the Jacks Mountain Hawk Watch welcomed The Mifflin County Chamber Leadership Tourism Group lead by Buffie Boyer There were approximately 25 people that attended and learned about the history of the watch. It was also explained what and why we watch and document the Fall Raptor Migration. They were given a lot of other information associated with the hawk watch. We spent about one hour setting up and tearing down our props for the meeting behind the altar where we watch in the fall. Part of the reason they were here is how we at the hawk watch could promote tourism in Mifflin County. If they would have been there when we were visited by some of the notable visitors, they would understand how we can promote the tourism in Mifflin County. A man and woman from Wisconsin. She was a very accomplished painter. Very nice people who spent about 20 minutes at the watch. A geologist from North Caroline stopped by and talked to Cindy. A man and woman from Halifax, Pa. He was a very accomplished photographer who had documented the life cycle of hummingbird from egg to fletching. He was going to present at the Ned Smith Center in Millerstown, Pa. It was a truly great day for the Jacks Mountain Hawk Watch. We left around 2:00 standard time. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Darrell Smith (<oleagleye...>)
