Walked along the Shepaug River in the Steep Rock Preserve in Washington Depot, CT late this morning. Walked the east side of the river to Reich Bridge and then back on he west side of river and then crossed the river again on the Thoreau bridge. Not much bird activity but had an Eastern Phoebe at the Reich Bridge, which where they nest. Yesterday afternoon walked along the Shepaug River in the Steep Rock Preserve on River Road in Washington Depot, CT. Walked on the Railroad Bed trail on the west side of the river to the Scout camp and back. Not much bird activity but a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker ("Year Bird") and a pair of Common Merganser on the river. David W BabingtonWashington, CT
