Observation start time: 08:30:00 Observation end time: 10:30:00 Total observation time: 2 hours
Official Counter: Jerry McWilliams
Observers: Jerry McWilliams, Julie Leonard
Visitors: Julie Leonard assisted with the count. Visitors included an electrical lineman, Judy Hill and Tom Finnegan.
Weather: Variably cloudy becoming all cloudy with a SSW breeze and warmer than normal.
Raptor Observations: Very little moving, but not surprised because of the mostly cloudy conditions, but also favorable conditions for flights the past three days, which may have lightened the pipeline.
Non-raptor Observations: A bit surprising was three westbound Tree Swallows, a bit earlier than expected. Other birds noted were American Robin, Red-winged Blackbird, Common Grackle, Rock Pigeon, Mourning Dove, American Crow, European Starling, Northern Cardinal, Canada Goose American Herring and Ring-billed gulls, and a Hairy Woodpecker.
Predictions: Continued southerly wind, but thunderstorms in the morning then steady rain in the afternoon with strong gusty winds. Sounds like a day off.Jerry McWilliamsErie, Erie County, <Pa.jerrymcw...>
