Subject: [CT Birds] Orange backyard feeders
3/9 Orange. In addition to my regular avian visitors (titmouse,
chickadee, common grackles, blue jays, cardinals, starlings, juncos, white
throated and song sparrows) I have had a flock of Red winged blackbirds .
Being that the last 2 days have been above 50F, the honey bees are out in
full force.
They were buzzing in and around my mixed seed feeder, emptying it today.
Lots of loud buzzing, and they were inside the feeder ( apparently eating
the "powder" from the seeds) and lots of seeds on the ground now, so the
bees are on the ground as well. I attached a short video on my E-bird
report.
