I tend to bird close to home these days. This very green ORANGE CROWNED WARBLER was seen at Heintz Preserve on yesterday. Our backyard Pygmy Nuthatch pair are gone but I found a pair on Hicks Road near Camden today, 1.15 miles from home. A WHITE TAILED KITE has been calling for weeks, perched atop a neighbors Redwood. A pair successfully nested nearby fifteen ago. Just hours ago I photographed a male RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD and a selasphorus hummer, both at our nectar feeder.
