Subject: [BostonBirds] 3/3 Revere Roving Glaucous, Gull, Northern Harrier, Etc.
I roved in Revere from 11:00-3:00 today, starting at Revere Beach at high tide (11:00).I covered the beach from Kelly's Famous Roast Beef to the southern end, which was really hopping! I also took a side excursion to Oak Island, hoping to see raptors and owls in Rumney Marsh. I also covered Short Beach. Finally, I went to The Key (part of Belle Isle Marsh).Unless noted, all birds from Revere Beach.

Common Loon 6 including five Short Beach, which is the best place for this species
Red-throated Loon 1
Brant 30 including five Short Beach
Canada Goose x
American Black Duck including one which was attacked by a Red-tailed Hawk and will be flightless for the remainder of its life
Mallard Duck x
Black Scoter 2 near Short Beach
Surf Scoter 2+ ditto
White-winged Scoter x

Red-breasted Merganser x
Bufflehead x including thirty-four at "The Key"
Common Goldeneye x
Greater Scaup 28 southern end of Reverfe Beach

Red-tailed Hawk 3 including two Oak Island
GLAUCOUS GULL 1 south end Revere Beach; all white except pink bill with black tip
