MARCH 01, 2026 - OTTAWA NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE MONTHLY CENSUS. ROUTES: East Side, West Side, Western Prairies, Henry Marsh, and Fox Unit in the morning; Wildlife Drive (except where closed for eagle nesting) in the afternoon. TIME: 7:30am - 12:10pm; 12:55pm - 2:40pm TIME AFIELD: 6:25 TEMP.: 21F ~ 30F COND.: Cold early with a brisk north wind - windchill making it feel like 8F; partly sunny turning mostly sunny; no snow cover; all impoundments just starting to lose ice; Lake Erie open. OBS. EAST: Bob Bartolotta, Jim Koppin, Al & Betty Schlecht. OBS. WEST: Susan Brauning, Katie Clink, Donna Kuhn, David Myles, George Novosel, Chris Pierce, Mark Swelstad, Tracy Wiczer. OBS.
