Greetings all -
Our first Noyo Pelagics excursion will be a half-day trip tomorrow
(Sunday) leaving the dock at 10 am. Weather will be flat, calm, and
probably party cloudy, like today, excellent conditions for seeing birds
and whales. We'll spend our time up in Noyo Canyon and are pretty
guaranteed to see Gray Whales, albatrosses, shearwaters, and who knows
what else? There has been very little coverage offshore in late February.
Last year, on our first trip on March 24th, we found a group of 300
Risso's Dolphins, 120 Pacific White-sided Dolphins, 80 Northern Right
Whale Dolphins, plus all the usual winter pelagic birds including
Black-footed and Laysan Albatrosses.
Cost is $120 and you can pay at the dock by cash, check, or card.
Our 2026 dates for full-day trips are set, and we should have the
reservation buttons working soon.

In other news, Cackling Geese have begun moving north, with up to 1500
observed flying offshore today. We have a good chance of seeing more of
this annual spectacle tomorrow.
