Subject: [AZNMbirds] Portal-Foothills Road feeders reopen
Hi folks,
Last October one of the sycamore tree trunks behind our viewing area
snapped near the base and suddenly collapsed. I decided to close the yard
to the public at that time due to the potential for some other tree trunk
to fall on someone in the bird-viewing area.

We were gone in November and December and returned home in early January at
which time I began working on a plan to reopen the yard. I decided to move
the viewing area about 90 degrees to a location that would not be
impacted by any other falling tree trunks. I removed some shrubs and built
an awning at the new viewing location. One problem with the new location
is that in the very early morning the sun is in your eyes as it rises. We
knew this would be the case but the new location was the only spot
available. There is, however, another option as the picnic table is still
available in a slightly different location than before where the sun is
a bit less of a problem. Anyway, we have now reopened the yard and you are
all welcome. All for now. Thanks.

Bob
