This morning, 22 February 2026, a very early Hepatic Tanager, a female, was present briefly in my Hereford, AZ, yard. A medium-sized yellow bird with a tanager bill with a small hook easily seen; and dark auricular patches. Very surprising.
Also in the yard this morning, my continuing out of habitat Abert's Towhee, and 2 White-throated Sparrows.
