Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] New Cape May Warbler continues
The Cape May Warbler found earlier this morning, Sunday, by Alex Abela continues at 11:00 a.m. In its favorite apparent tree, on the east side of Coast highway, Highway 101, in northern Solana Beach, specifically the third Or fourth tipu on the east side of the road south of the Cliff Street traffic light. Probably a young male. Other people have seen the bird fly off and disappear to the Southwest and then reappear later on. So clearly it comes and goes but it loves this tree, at least today it does, so I would just park yourself here and wait for it to show up. (32.9963628, -117.2729095)

Also, back to the Clairemont red throated pipit for a moment, the bird shows orangey on the lower half of the throat, so either it's a dull adult or perhaps young birds can can start acquiring adult orange by late January?

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://sandiegofieldornithologists.org/san-diego-county-avian-records-database/.
