Today, the 22nd, at 4:30 P. M. I saw the phainopepla being reported at the junction of Parson's Creek and Old River Road, north of Hopland. The bird was flycatching at the top of an oak just to the north of the creek. A Lewis's woodpecker joined it near the top of the tree.
