Today Wes Fritz and I headed over to the Cuyama Valley, with the hope that the above average year for RL Hawks in Nor Cal might result in a bird reaching there. We had no luck on that front but did well with the regular raptors including 9 Ferruginous Hawks, 2 Golden Eagles, 3 Merlins and 5 Prairie Falcons.
We did quite well on other species with Greater Roadrunner, Rock Wren, many Mountain Bluebirds, Vesper and Bell's Sparrows.
A late afternoon visit to the far end of Wasioja Road yielded a Lark Bunting in with some Lark Sparrows and 4 Yellow-billed Magpies.
