Subject: [sd-birds] scammers
Folks, scammers are using AI to access membership to organizations'
listservs, websites and Facebook pages. One is a *Julia** Foster*. AI is
generating false information on joining requests. (ie. I* want to learn
about birds and I live in Sioux Fall*s). We must be extra cautious from now
on.
It is best for listserv groups and Facebook groups to have more than one
owner. This will enable more of a safety valve if a scammer sneaks in. I
believe SDOU's listserv only has one owner/moderator, if so another should
be added. I am not sure of the SDOU Facebook group, but if they have only
one, it needs to be fixed.
