Subject: Re: [Ohio-birds] Big year thoughts and numbers
I haven't commented on this before, but as the year draws to a close, I
wanted to say how much I've enjoyed and appreciated Sandra Keller's updates
on her Big Year attempts in Warren and Clinton counties. I don't know much
about that part of the state, so I've learned a lot from her posts about
the hotspots there and the status of different species. And I totally agree
with Sandra's point that "Big years are for learning" -- especially when we
focus on a specific area. Of course it can be fun to run all over the
state, or all over the continent, but we learn so much at a fine detail
when we're trying to find every species within the boundaries of one county.

So thank you, Sandra, and very best wishes to everyone for a bird-filled
2026!
