Summer Tanager (Piranga rubra) (1) CONFIRMED

- Coal Oil Point, Devereux Beach, Sands Beach, and bluff trails, Santa Barbara, California

- Comments: "I heard a punctuating triplet chattery call that was unfamiliar around the oaks just inside the white gate to COPR (34.4107792, -119.8775882). I then saw a chunky bird fly to the palm tree above the white gate and got good looks at a female Summer Tanager; uniform dusky-yellow belly, vent and under-tail coverts with back and wings approaching a uniform olivaceous color. The face was also olive-yellow and the bill was large and robust. The color of the bill was dark gray with pale yellow fringes at the gape. It then flew towards the Campbell Mansion and I lost it in some Eucalyptus trees near the mansion. It was calling regularly during my 7 minute observation."
