Hello CT birders -
As most of you are aware, we have THREE rare geese visiting our state right now: A Greater White-fronted Goose, a Pink-footed Goose, and a BARNACLE GOOSE are hanging out with a large flock of Canada geese and some Cackling geese, moving between Broad Brook Mill Pond in East Windsor and private fields at Jobs Hill Road in Ellington. Many people are coming from outside our state and (even our region!) to see these birds!
I was contacted by an out-of-state birder who will be traveling through our state tomorrow and is hoping for someone to be in the area around 10 AM with a scope, since they do not have theirs with them.
While it seems likely that someone will be there by chance, it would be great to connect this birder with one of us so they have a chance to see one or all of these rarities through a scope.
Please reply to me off list and I can provide your contact info. if you are planning on a visit to look for the geese tomorrow mid morning and are willing to try and help a fellow birder!
Thank you,
Chuck Imbergamo
