about an hour ago I observed a possible gyrfalcon, on the hamlin/brookings county line just a couple of miles east of lake poinsett. unfortunately i was traveling north at 60mph and the bird was headed south at dog knows what speed! at a distance of probably 50 yards, clearly a falcon, pointed wings, gray, powerful flight. unfortunately there was a vehicle behind me and by the time i was able to stop and turn around i could not relocate the bird!
