11/25/25 at 515pm I was out on a run in Legacy Park (Lees Summit, Jackson County) and was thrilled to see a single Short Eared Owl wheeling over the large open field at the south end of the park, adjacent to their new dredging operation underway. It’s been a few years since I’ve seen one in the park but they’ve been documented here before. I only got a couple of poor videos of the bird.
