11/26 Milford, Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center. 10am-1PM. low
tide-rising, 58F, overcast.
Beautiful gold marsh grasses as the tide came in. We had several
experienced birders today inquiring about the variety of birds we have .
On the marsh: 11 Brant, 1 Mute swan, a flock of "peeps" flew over but too
far out to determine ID, 10 American Black ducks, 1 Northern Harrier
coasting over the marsh which flushed the 32 Mourning doves at feeders and
sitting in the trees.
On the ground and feeders: 6 House finches, 32 Mourning doves, 1 White
breasted nuthatch, 1 Mockingbird, 4 Northern Cardinals, 1 Red bellied
woodpecker, 8 White throated sparrows, 3 Tufted Titmice, 8 House sparrows,
1 Song sparrow, 1 Carolina Wren and 2 Starlings.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.
