- Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S282924834
- Comments: "cont bird found by Kevin yesterday and Terri and Mike later. i didn't pursue the TEWA that frequented the bottlebrush and adjacent oaks months ago so didn't know this location. one needs to walk right into the residential area of the state park near the camping area and right next to the small nursery. My experience was similar to Terri's where it took forever to get even glimpses of this bird, but I did, several times and distinguished it from other warblers in the same area, most notably the OCWA. TEWA had yellow throat and breast and a pale yellowish belly but whitish undertail coverts, olive-lime green back, with noticeable short eyeline and longer light eyebrow. bird was not particularly cooperative for me, would show and i'd confirm it thru nocs only to have it move as soon as i aimed camera. this happened 4-5 times, but I was happy to confirm bird visually and got half a dozen poor chip recordings verified by merlin."

Bay-breasted Warbler (Setophaga castanea) (1)
- Reported Nov 04, 2025 15:55 by Jake Hager
- Laguna Lake, San Luis Obispo, California

- Comments: "After staking out the toyons and nearby eucalyptuses for near an hour, I heard a chip call that was louder, higher-pitched + slightly descending, more piercing than yellow-rumps. Got very good looks at the bay-breasted warbler as it briefly foraged in the third toyon from the parking area. Overall yellow-green head and back, two thick white wing bars contrasting with dark wings, faint rufous coloration on flanks. Light was poor for photos."

Bay-breasted Warbler (Setophaga castanea) (1)
- Reported Nov 04, 2025 13:46 by Terri Osborn
- Laguna Lake, San Luis Obispo, California

- Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S282938795
- Comments: "Found earlier today by Bob McCay. I saw it briefly with other birders along the line of Eucalyptus Trees near the Toyon Bushes. I wasn't able to get a photo but Ann, Herb and Russ did. It disappeared into the trees and everyone else left. I stayed to try to get a better view or a photo. I eventually saw it in the row of Eucalyptus Trees flying from tree to tree. It was very active and in the shade so I wasn't able to get a photo but I watched it for a couple minutes getting good views with binoculars. The bird had a greenish yellow head and back, yellow face with whitish broken eye arcs with slight dark line through the eye, dark wings with double white wing bars, and was buffy below with pale rusty color on the flanks. It was occasionally chased by the Yellow-rumped Warblers."

- Comments: "Chunky warbler with proportionately short tail, long wings and long undertail-coverts. Two bold, broad, white wingbars contrasted strongly with blackish wings, the folded remiges of which, were finely edged and tipped white, most boldly so on the folded tertials. Upperparts were pale, rather bright, yellowish-green (with fine, dusky streaks), and the face and neck sides were even brighter and more yellowish in color; the face was particularly unpatterned, and the throat was washed pale yellow. The rest of the underparts were pale whitish, with a slight buff tinge, except for the cinnamon wash to the flanks. Photos to follow. This was only the 2nd time I've seen this species in the county; the last one that I can remember seeing anywhere was a breeding plumaged male, in June of 2018, that had found its way to Gambell, Saint Lawrence Island in Alaska's NW Bering Sea region."
