Small flocks gathered between
intermittent gusty winds, and patience paid off as I spotted the Bay-breasted warbler In a lone toyon between two euc trunks up against the barbed wire fence along the field beyond the parking loop at the boat ramp. It didn’t stay long enough to get extreme detail, but I noted the pale throat and breast, yellowish head, streaks on the greenish back, dark wings with two white wing bars, and rosy-rusty smudge on the flanks.
Things were birdy overall. Bewick’s Wrens, White -crowned Sparrows, Ruby-crowned Kinglets (one with his scarlet crown showing), Say’s Phoebe, Red-tailed Hawk, Western Kingbird, Black Phoebe, Western Bluebird, Bushtit.
