Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] 26 October: Northern Fulmer in close off Del Mar; another Lewis's Woodpecker along Mesa Grande Rd
While scoping feeding flocks this morning off Penasquitos Lagoon mouth between 0745-8:45 am,  a dark morph Northern Fulmar appeared with a feeding flock of birds, close enough to get  pretty good looks.  its stocky build and stiff-winged flight, and pale patches at the bases of the inner primaries  caught my eye.   There are still a lot of  black vents streaming south, but not as many as there were last weekend.
Later in the day, a little after noon, there was a juvenile-type Lewis's Woodpecker  (dark splotchy)  on a pole at mile post 3.0 along Mesa Grande Rd in Santa Ysabel.

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://bvaudubon.org/birding-resources/ .
