Subject: [AZNMbirds] Steller's jay near Fort Lowell Park
Slightly late post:

Yesterday (October 25) as I was finishing errands, Jim called to tell me
there was a Steller's jay at the feeder!

Fortunately, I was near home by then, and when I arrived 4 minutes later -
I heard it, then saw it fly up from the front up into the big Aleppo pine.

Not an expected bird here, but we did have one in December 2021. And of
course, there is winter wandering...

Speaking of Fort Lowell Park - if you're going there today, be aware there
is a huge crowd - Dogtoberfest. The field west of the pond is packed with
canopies and people - until 4 pm today. The rest of the park seems
pretty undisturbed, and we were greeted with a great egret flyover, a
kingfisher, and a Bewick's wren calling from the north part of the pecan
orchard.

Happy Birding!
