Official Counter: Kate McKay, Mark Timmerman

Observers: Amy Maurer, Chuck Carlson, David Wiedner, Judd Nathan,
Katrina Fenton, Levi Burford, Mark Timmerman, Mitch Heydt,
Tom Momeyer, with many more...

Visitors:
181 visitors, many of them interested in the hawkwatch. Nice to see John
Welch, Nathan French, and Bill Howe.

Weather:
Mostly sunny in the morning, becoming overcast in the afternoon. Light
northwest wind with temperatures ranging from 32 °F to 41 °F.

Raptor Observations:
Although many observers had dreamed of seeing a Golden Eagle, we still had
a great day enjoying other nice birds and each other's company. Highlights
included a juvenile goshawk, two male harriers, and several colorful
red-shoulders. The first and last migrants of the day were beautiful adult
sharpies.

Non-raptor Observations:
Three Purple Finches provided us nice looks in the morning as they foraged
in the fir trees next to the hawkwatch. A couple skeins of Canada Geese
came by, and a Barred Owl was heard calling in the afternoon. A late
Monarch flying overhead was exciting to see.
Monarchs: 1/512

Predictions:
Similar conditions tomorrow.
