Subject: [sbcobirding] Red-naped Sapsucker Lake Los Carneros
I was birding at Lake Los Carneros on Sunday morning with Adrian when we caught glimpses of a sapsucker in the first pepper tree on the left walking from the dam towards the Stow House. We assumed it to be a Red-breasted Sapsucker but upon reviewing photos later at home it seems to actually be a Red-naped Sapsucker. Hints of a red spot at the nape as well as the black stripe did not completely encompass the red throat.
