- Comments: "Continuing bird (Petra & Jack Clayton, 10/11/25) - Overall slightly grayer than nearby juvenile Black-crowned Night Heron. This bird had a large, heavy and blunt steel gray bill, prominent orange iris, gray crown, auriculars and nape and was brownish/gray on back with small triangular patterning on wing coverts and gray/dull yellowish legs."

- Comments: "Third times the charm (again)! Continuing HY in cherry hedge. Ridiculously shy at times, but eventually managed decent looks. Large, chunky, mostly golden-yellow warbler with pale gray bill, large black eye, greenish back, bluish-gray wings, and white undertail coverts. Occasionally giving somewhat squeaky sounding metallic call. Very unusual habitat for this species, even for a vagrant, but does have an abundant food source!"

- Comments: "FIRST WINTER MALE when checked against SIbley illust. Briefly moving through the open and rangy Prunus hedge looking for any remaining hanging fruits but none remain except widely scattered on the ground. Good bright indirect light 10 am, (high thin cloud cover).
Eyed the drip bath (occupied by a Mockingbird) but then flew off without using. Deeply colored head markings, rusty breast and underside, no streaking. Appeared alone mid morning.

No photo available, but 10 second pose at end of bare branchlet made for pos ID.

BHGB are normal in my yard from late July to late Sept, depending on timing of Prunus lyonnii fruit crop. Spring of '25 crop was good 5 weeks late--first crop failed, 2nd crop, lighter than normal and 4 weeks later than normal ."
