Hi Everyone!
Today I birded Los Capitancillos. Valley Water is doing some work at this location. Some of the ponds have low water levels but still have interesting ducks; but, the amount of vegetation clearing is detracting from the location. My highlight was my FOS *White-throated Sparrow* mixed in with some other sparrows just before the west most pond on the east side of Meridian. Ducks included *Ring-necked Ducks, American Wigeons, 1 Lesser Scaup, Mallards, and Gadwalls*. All of these were on the west side. A pair of* Belted Kingfishers* were active on the west side as well. On the east side, one *Common Gallinule *and some *Double-crested Cormorants* were added to my bird list. As I was returning to my car, 2 *American White Pelicans* flew overhead, this species was a first for me at this spot. I ended up with 55 species.
