Weather: It was a pleasant fall day with cool temperatures, calm winds, and cloudy skies in the morning. The day warmed in the afternoon, temperatures remained in the mid 60's, with more sun and S to SSW winds from 3-9 mph. Good visibility all day, 28 miles or more.
Raptor Observations: Bald Eagle (10) - 1021(a), 1025(a), 1029(i), 1105(un-aged), 1106 (un-aged), 1120 (a), 1129(a), 1145(i), 1321(a), 1322(i). Golden Eagle 0958 (i), Peregrine Falcon (2) - 1108(a), 1330(a). American Goshawk - 1112 (a). High season count for Sharp-shinned Hawk (106) and Coopers Hawk (18). An exciting view of a Rock Pigeon escaping a Peregrin Falcon.
Non-raptor Observations: A lone Sandhill Crane flew south along the north ridge. Common Raven (12). American Pipet, Yellow Rumped Warbler, and Purple Finch.
Predictions: Slightly warmer temperatures on Sunday with heavier cloud cover. Steady Southern winds in the afternoon, 10-15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
