I caught, banded and released an adult female rufous hummingbird today in Lycoming Co near Montoursville. This is Lycoming Co's 6th banding.
Keep your feeders up into Nov/Dec. These western hummingbirds are not afraid of our cold weather. We have banded Rufous, Allen's, Calliope, Black-chinned and Anna's. We have documented 217 of these birds since.1990.
