Subject: [NEBirds] Hummingbird in Kearney
Hi all,

Barbara Brown, Mike Roffman and I had a hummingbird at Ted Baldwin Park today. We only saw it for a few seconds as it was foraging along the edge of the vegetation by the lakeshore before it booked it across the lake into the private neighborhood on the west side of the lake. We left it as an unidentified hummingbird, since we didn’t get good enough looks to figure out what it was and it didn’t look quite right for a Ruby-throated Hummingbird.

If anyone knows someone in that neighborhood, ask them to keep an eye out for a hummingbird! There are lots of planted flowers in the neighborhood, so it could stick around for a bit.

All the best,

JC
