I  photographed the Santa Ana River Ruff in 2013 and every year since 2016. Unfortunately I was out of town when it was found a few weeks ago.
In some years it only hung around a few days, other years a month or more. I went to the Lincoln bridge area and ran into Shawn O'Neill  who told me it was seen upstream from the first waterfall hanging out with some Stilts. I first found it here (33.840801, -117.858109) at 1230 and it was still there at 130 when I left.

Besides the Stilts there was  single Dowitcher. I biked past the area around 330 and it was slightly closer to the shore (33.8408630, -117.857974).

My photos  today (and those  back to 2103) can be found here

While the water situation is pretty bleak upstream from Glassell there is plenty of water where it now is feeding. So maybe it will hang around.

Not sure where it goes but if  I recall correctly  Jim Pike found it late one  winter in the Prado Basin.
