Warm southwest winds got some birds on the move but I'm afraid not that many for this date, even despite a yeoman's effort by "G-Man Dan". Some flocks were riding thermals looking like swirling flocks of Broad-winged Hawks. Again, this count was characterized by a late start with only 8 birds on the books at 5:30. All birds were northbound until the 6:30 time slot when most movement was westward. The pigeon-mad Merlin returned for a few swipes at the pigeon flock, again without luck.
The season total now stands at 1,772.
