A fun day on the ridge today with Bald Eagles leading the charge !
22 Bald Eagles were counted as migrating today but there were many
more in the skies that were moving back and forth along the ridge
that were not counted as migrating.
22 was a VERY conservative count. There were numerous times when we
had 4 Balds in one binocular field of view and we also had 6 together
directly
over the top of the watch site that were vocalizing and chasing each
other.
The Bald Eagle action was just non-stop today.
Also had some Broadwings on the move and our Bird(s)of the Day selection
goes to the 2 adult Broadwings that came in together very tight to the
ridge
on the river side just a bit above eye level giving us great looks.
My thanks to the Coon crew for bringing their "A" game today and picking
up
some of the high fliers that were trying to sneak by. Way to go guys !

Non-raptor Observations:

Monarch- 4
Ravens- 6
TV's & BV's

DC Cormorant

Wood Nymph
Ringneck Snake ( a little beauty!! )
