A good countlast night, the highest of the season, but not a "blockbuster" like some were saying. An odd night, the count was stuck at 3 until well after 6 o'clock, then like in Hancock the sky filled through 7:00. No big flocks but steady and even manic for awhile.
Many thanks to the biggest crew ever here, starting with my First Assistant, rising star Belknap birder Dan Mullarkey, known all too well by the stale bread duck feeders at Weirs Beach as "Bird Man Dan."
A-List celebrities: a special visit from Susan and Wavell Fogleman, thank you guys for coming down to help out. Also David, Eric & Robin, and Eli and Jess. We covered the whole sky very well.
At the risk of crying wolf too often, tonight will be a bigger count. Let's see what happens.
