Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] Baird’s at Lower Otay
There’s a group of five Baird’s Sandpipers a little south of the very north end of Lower Otay:
(32.6427450, -116.9285242)

I wouldn’t run down here immediately, as the light and heat shimmer are atrocious. The birds also have moved even further south and away from the viewing spot at the north point. Later this afternoon may prove better.

Oddly enough, nothing terribly interesting to report from the much better habitat at the very eastern arm of the lake, except a continuing Semipalmated Plover.

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://bvaudubon.org/birding-resources/ .
