About 1,500 robins are roosting in a line of trees along the railroad tracks in our neighborhood in West Des Moines. They all appear to be arriving in a single, narrow stream around dusk, so counting is fairly straightforward. I don't think this count is terribly unusual for a late-summer robin roost, but it's cool to see on a nightly basis from our yard.
