Not seen a family of turkeys in my garden since last year but was just
drawn to investigate by a lot of frantic clucking in the woods. As I
entered the wood behind my house, three young ones flew from 50 or so
feet up the trees off towards the stream - the clucking continued
further into the wood. Two hens were on the ground and a large-ish
young in a tree. I left, and a few minutes later one of the hens
appeared on my lawn clucking loudly, followed by 5 quite small poults
(not downy), the second hen and the older poult from the tree. They
wandered across the lawn and into the further woods. Quite exciting!
