Hey All,
As noted in this Months Feathers, HMBC, with help from Union College, Mohawk Hudson Land Conservency, and the Environmental Clearinghouse of Schenectady is holding a Trail Cleanup Day at The Reist Preserve in Niskayuna. We need more volunteers from HMBC who can give us the day or part of the day to help.
the goal of the day is to repair 4 bridges/ boardwalks, clear two new trails, close two trails, remove old woody debris from the swamp trail, clear downed trees blocking the trails ( or making them unsafe).
if you can wield a power drill, pry bar, pole or chain saw or just carry some lumber, we could use your help. There will be an event notice on the Club Facebook Page with a signup/interested button or you can reach out to me directly at <kvnpony...> You can also message on WhatsApp or call me (home phone listed in member directory).
We will be meeting at the Kelly Adirondack Center on St David’s Lane in Niskayuna at 8:30 am. The center will be open with restrooms, coffee, other fluids, and light snacks available. We end about 4.
ATM we have no rain date. We will only call the work off for Torrential Rains ( always possible
in September). If called or we cannot complete the work in a day, we anticipate a day in October TBD.
