Subject: [ia-bird] Shorebirds on 280th St. near Salix Farms Dairy, Woodbury County, iA
*Monday, Aug. 11:*
*Roadside drainage ditch on north side of 280th*, west of the dairy,
currently dredged for culvert replacements, resulting in bare dirt with
slowly flowing water:

9 species of shorebirds, including:
*Short-billed Dowitcher*, 1 juvenile
Wilson's Phalarope, 1 juvenile
Stilt Sandpiper, 8
Solitary Sandpiper, 1
Semi-palmated Sandpiper, 1

*The Square*:
*Sedge Wren*, 4 singing males FOS
Marsh Wren, 2
Grasshopper Sparrow, 15
