Seen resting and preening on the sycamore tree, about 100 yards up-creek from the pedestrian bridge. Dark head, neck and back; new feathers in the center of the tail, worn feathers on the outside of the tail; orange gular patch with a pale border forming a V at the gape; dark supraloral area; blue eyes. --- When I was leaving and looking back, the bird was circling up-creek high over the trees."

Overall dull gray plumage with a tinge of cinnamon-brown on the head, neck and back; pale yellow eyes; dark bill; dark legs. - Mostly just standing still in the creek."
